Zoe, welcome and thanks for posting this. I have heard the other versions of St. Patrick’s tale but just wanted to co-opt the snake myth to coincide with my post about Stupak and Pitts.
You may find it interesting to know that Patrick was sent to Ireland to rid them of women’s religions, the Celts, the Druids and the Ladies of Avalon. Not a lot of snakes – it was a euphemism for sinners (always female – just ask Eve).
