Yet another reason we need more women in office: yesterday House Democrats, led by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, unveiled a new campaign that addresses the economic challenges facing women and families. When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families, outlines solutions to fix the gender based wage gap, the lack of paid sick time and family leave, and the lack of affordable and high-quality child care. In discussing the campaign, Pelosi told NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, “If we lift up women in the workplace we go a long way to helping our children.”

Some of the solutions outlined in the agenda include:

•          Increase Minimum Wage

•          Support Women Entrepreneurs/Small Businesses

•          Expand Family and Medical Leave

•          Promote Affordable and High Quality Child Care

You can read more about the agenda here and you can watch Pelosi’s interview with Mitchell here. My favorite part of the interview is when Mitchell asked the Congresswoman, “Do you think of yourself as more of a Sheryl Sandberg Lean In kind of person or an Anne-Marie Slaughter women can’t have it all at the same time? Where do you come down on these sort of debates?”

Pelosi said, “I come down as myself. And that’s what I tell young women and women new into the workplace. Be yourself. Whatever the formulation is that works for you, that’s what you should do.”

Great initiative. The US needs to further increase its efforts towards gender equality. This goes on the right direction.

So, since you are only interested in females and not people would that make you a Female Chauvinist Pig by your own definition?

Since you are only interested in females and since you DEMAND to be treated equally then you DEMAND men only be interested in men. Consequently, why should or would a man vote for any of this?

Noting how men oppress females why would a man vote for any of this?

Pelosi seems to be saying that it’s OK to be a nutcase. Just be yourself even if you are a nut case. That’s what she’s telling young females today.

Why should male taxpayers have to pay for any of Pelosi’s recommendations? Females won’t pay for men. Even on a first date. So would it be OK if just female’s taxes went to females and men’s taxes went to men? Or do men earn more and pay more so females can get the money to spend on them alone.

Is Pelosi excluding females without children from these proposals?

Why would she exclude men? Is it because females are too pathetic to make it on their own so men should pay for females to get to where they had to work for.
